Rubbings have been used for hundreds of years to capture the shape, texture and likeness of objects.
Any object with a raised texture works, like leaves, tree bark, coins, or tiles. Make a collage of leaves, a background of bark, or a graphic pattern of coins.
What you need:
- Crayons
- Paper
- Raised texture objects
What you do:
- Place the leaf on a hard surface.
- Put a white sheet of paper on the leaf.
- Use a crayon on its side and gently rub over the leaf.
- Repeat this with other leaves.
