Too far south? Is it raining instead of snowing? You can make snowballs indoors with two simple ingredients. My boys have fun with this strangely cool to the touch fake snow. And because it is made with conditioner, it smells good too!
My boys have extended the fun of the fake snow by make minature snowmen with eyes, a nose, buttons and a scarf. My favorite creation of theirs was a small snowfort for each of them and the mini-snow ball battle that ensued!
What you need:
- Conditioner
- Baking soda
What you do:
- Measure 3 cups of baking soda into a bowl
- Add ½ cup of conditioner
- Mix until snow forms
- The snow will feel sandy and crumbly to the touch. It should clump nicely for building and shaping.
For extra fun, put the baking soda in the freezer or refrigerator for an hour or so before making. This makes the snow pleasantly cool to the touch and adds to the allure of indoor snow! Go ahead and make snow!
