Flubber is a weird and wonderful material that resembles B.O.B. in the movie Monsters vs Aliens or the Robin Williams movie namesake “Flubber”. Resembling elastic play dough, flubber is a curiosity worth exploring.
Using the flubber recipe below, make batches of different colors and see what happens when you mash flubber blobs together.
Common sense warning: Do NOT eat!
What you need:
2 bowls
3/4 cup cold water
1 cup Elmer’s glue
Food coloring
1/2 cup hot water
1 teaspoon borax (please read all label warnings)
What you do:
Mix the cold water, glue, and food coloring in the first bowl.
Mix the hot water and borax, until the borax is completely dissolved ion the second bowl.
Slowly add the glue mixture to borax mixture.
Mix well until the flubber blob forms.
Pour off excess water.
