City or country, fresh snow is a great opportunity to solve mysteries in the snow. Grab your camera and tread lightly looking for the tracks of animals that live near you. Take photos and compare them to images of animal tracks when you get back indoors from the internet or the guide below from the Ohio DNR.
But first, guess what animals made the tracks. Some common tracks this time of year are: bird, squirrel, raccoon, field mouse, deer and dog.
Outside time is even more important in the winter when we can tend to stay indoors where it is cozy and outdoor winter activities for families are tons of fun. Put on lots of layers and get out into the cool winter sunshine for a romp outdoors.
